A glimpse from a talk I gave at my favourite tech firm this evening;
A conversation that was meant to be about innovation and staying ahead of the curve but invariably became about humanity, violence and whether we’re going to stay ahead of this culture of anger we seem to be part of globally.
The conversation about this cycle of violence-begets-violence and the conversation about innovating is really the same conversation.
Are we selling ourselves (as human beings) short by keeping ourselves in a world/organization/life that is
S.t.u.c.k. in a kind of hellish group-think
And is there a way to move ourselves out of this fog of darkness into a life
at once more deeply human
and more unfamiliar than the present one?
Both business and world are trying to answer the same question.
Every conversation about ethical business, racial or gender equality, sustainable living is really asking the same question:
Is there a more intelligent way to live, work and govern that unites rather than divides, inspires rather than frightens, renews rather than destroys and represents the fullest expression of the sparkle that is the human spirit?
Freedom of mind and an entrepreneurial spirit are deeper gifts to the world than you can imagine.
For all of you:
Get clear. Be bold.
Begin by doing the only thing we really can do- opening our own hearts and minds to a better way forward.
