For several years now I have been working with young leaders, entrepreneurs and contrarians through a program we call THE TRAILBLAZERS PLAYBOOK. Over the course of a year, we ask questions, explore alternatives and experiment like hell- finding mentors, funding and allies along the way.
Over the years, we have come to learn some things about getting noticed, staying visible, sparking conversation and snowballing change.
A string of recent conversations with colleagues, coaches, social entrepreneurs, activists and other troublemakers has highlighted the relevance of these lessons even for those above the age of 25 😉
A lot of reflection and 15 phone calls later (I had to check with some of our wise and battle-tested alumni to be sure I picked the right 4 lessons to share with you guys!) here is a distilled list of what we have found to be at the heart of the modern ‘thought leader business’ (i.e. anybody who wants to make their mark while having an epic amount of fun along the way).
For those of you who know me, you have heard some version of this from me (over.and.over.and.over.again lol). Nevertheless, in response to recent events and questions about “how do I do what’re doing!?”, each of these is going to get a full length blog post of its own in the coming weeks, unpacking both the lessons and our experiences/results/examples relevant to each.
Consider this a crash course in branding + impact.
The summary list is below, individual manifestos will be publicly available here over the coming weeks. I hope that will spark inspiration and ideas and you will experiment with these for yourself (and share what you learn!).
