It’s a rare moment when a world opens up to you that you hadn’t seen- or accepted- before. When someone recognizes a potential in you that you hadn’t noticed yourself.

It’s happened to me twice, this kind of distinct, forever memorable moment.

We have a people problem– thinking of governments, organizations and other institutions as if they exist independent of the people in them- and therefore trying to make changes ‘to the system’ without really affecting the people in it.

If you’re like most senior leaders you have probably said some version of this many times- to your spouse, parents kids, even to yourself. And if you’re just starting out in your career, there’s a trick in here that you probably haven’t seen yet.

We can use our minds and relationships in life giving ways or life destroying ways. The idea that ‘intelligence’ can be anything that diminishes or destroys life is the ultimate fallacy.

A love note in response to all the women & girls at the Young Entrepreneurs Summit who shuffled their feet, looked nervously around and said “I don’t know what I want to do”, “I’m in transition, I guess”, “I should do something but…”

It seemed like I had been deeply involved with some work and when I looked up from what I was doing suddenly I saw I was in a flood of all the things I had been habitually piling into my life (and my wardrobe, calendar, suitcases, head). Without realizing, I had been in a life of B.u.s.y.- accumulating, wasting, spending, distracting.

When you are not resilient You feel this big and the problem seems this big. When you are resilient, you seem this big and the problem seems this big So you see, resilience is less about problem size and more about Sense of Self

aka Getting fooled by your own thinking As you get close to a breakthrough -a nerve centre- it’s possible (likely) Something in you will f.r.e.a.k. o.u.t.

I feel like in every conversation we have she is coaxing me to come out of a fixed way of seeing something. Encouraging me lightly, playfully, to join or rejoin the dance of life.
